Wales Council For Deaf People actively encourages parents of deaf children to join their local Children’s Hearing Services Working Group (CHSWG) to ensure their child’s needs are addressed.
There is a CHSWG in every health authority area, so there will be one near you. By becoming a parent representative you will be joining a group that includes professional representatives from education, health, social services and the voluntary sector to work together on services designed for deaf children and their families.
By bringing a parent’s perspective to the Working Group you will have the unique opportunity to voice the opinions of what families with deaf children need and want and crucially make a difference to their local provision.
If you would like to join your local CHSWG as a parent representative and get your voice heard, contact us for further information.
