Hosted by BiP Solutions Ltd, the GO Awards are the UK’s premier procurement awards, with annual ceremonies also taking place in England, Ireland and Scotland in acknowledgement of achievement and innovation in procurement. The GO Awards are recognised as the benchmark by which procurement excellence and progress in public sector commissioning is measured.
Grahame Steed, managing editor of GO and chair of the judging panel, said:
This truly was an amazing end to a fantastic day! From a hugely successful Procurex Wales Live event during the day, right through to this stunning finale that is the GO Awards Wales, this whole day has been immense and a fantastic Festival of Procurement.
Patrick McNamara, Director of Aspyre Training and Communication Services Ltd, this year’s highly commended recipient in the GO Best Business Award (Suppliers, service providers and contractors working with the Welsh public sector) – sponsored by Capita, said of their achievement:
To be honoured with this award is a fitting reward for our staff here at Aspyre. Their dedication and hard work has brought about amazing success. Established for only twenty months, we are delighted that Aspyre has been recognised for our work supporting people with hearing loss in Wales. We hope that other aspiring social businesses in Wales will take heart at our success and be encouraged to take part in the Go Awards next year. We would like to give a very special thank you to Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board for their support in sponsoring our application to take part in these awards, without which we would not have received this accolade.
Aspyre offers a full range of BSL interpretation, communication and training services to organisations whose service users have hearing loss and also to individuals needing communication support. The range of training courses we provide includes: Sign Language, Lipreading training, Deaf and Sensory Loss Awareness and Lipreading teacher training.”
John Gilchrist, Aspyre’s Business Development and Training manager added: “This award is really appreciated and will ‘inspyre’ us on to bigger and better achievements in the future. We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank our clients, partner organisations, advisers and everyone who has helped us on our tremendous journey over the past 20 months.
