Yesterday Donna Cushingour Development Services Manager visited our long standing Neath Tinnitus and Hard of Hearing Group and our Guest speakers for the afternoon were the Mid and West Wales Fire Service. A big thank you to them as they were very good and at times very patient.
Donna had a wonderful time and the group reported back that they thoroughly enjoyed the talk finding it full of interesting information and that it made them aware of potential problems within their homes. The Fire Service provides smoke alarms for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people and yesterday our referral system got off to a good start as we were able to refer four people who will now have these fitted in their homes. If you need to be assessed for this service please contact us at Wales Council for Deaf People and give us the opportunity to make sure your home is as safe as it can be.
The fire service regularly give talks on fire safety and also fit fire alarms.
If there are any other issues you feel we could help with then don’t hesitate to contact us.
