We began as the Welsh Regional Association for the Deaf around 1950. The name was changed to Welsh Association for the Deaf in 1967, then again to Wales Council for the Deaf in 1977, and the current title Wales Council for Deaf People has been in use since 2004. Our registered offices are in Pontypridd.
