We held our presentation ceremony of our 5 Star Awards last night and it was a great success with over 85 people attending. For those who have missed our posts prior to the event the awards were held as a platform to allow people with sensory loss across Wales to give acknowledgement to Health Care professionals who have gone out of their way to enhance their experience whilst undergoing treatment within the Health Service.

Wales Council for the Deaf and Wales Council of the Blind, the two Welsh organisations representing people with Sensory Loss in Wales asked patients with sensory loss to nominate individuals or teams within the Health Service who they felt had gone that “extra mile” for them and we had some wonderful nominations.

Six awards were given out at the award ceremony which was held at the Senedd yesterday evening and the event was supported by Rhun ap Iorwerth Shadow Health and Cabinet Minister. Rhun we are extremely grateful to you for this support and the time you gave us all yesterday, and a huge thank you to the participants and everyone who attended
