Action on Hearing Loss in partnership with National Deaf Children’s Society have launched a new survey which aims to gather the views professionals and other organisations involved in the planning and delivery of social care and support services for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
They have recently received funding from the Welsh Government to produce new guidelines for local authorities on meeting the care and support needs of people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Once completed, it is anticipated this guidance will become an official Welsh Government document. The aim of the guidance is to set out clearly how local authorities should meet the requirements of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 for people who are deaf or hard of hearing of all ages.
To support the development of said guidance, a short online survey has been developed alongside the Welsh Institute for Health & Social Care (WISHC) to gather evidence on what is working well and to identify key areas for quality impreovement.
