This course is designed to enable learners to develop their skills to communicate with Deaf people using British Sign Language (BSL) in a range of everyday situations. The Level 2 course will enable development in functional BSL communication in more depth than at Level 1, requiring a wider grasp of grammar to cope with some non-routine language exchanges.
At the end of the qualification, learners will be able to:
Homework exercises will be given to do out of the classroom environment.
Structured 1 to 1 tutorials will be given during the course, to identify strengths & areas for development, in order to encourage improvement.
Students will be encouraged to sign at all times, including coffee/tea breaks, as total immersion in the language will improve language development.
You can expect weekly assignments to supplement the course and re-enforce what you have learned in the session.
The Signature BSL Level 2 has 3 assessments throughout the course, and is included in the cost.
However, you must achieve these modules on your own merits, as attendance on the course does not automatically get you the qualification.
Students are requested to bring proof of their BSL level 1 certificate, and any other certificates relating to D/deaf, DeafBlind or Disability courses they have attended.
Any sessions cancelled by the centre will result in additional dates being arranged at no extra charge
Please note: The information provided on the registration form will be used to register you for the Signature assessments, contact you and to send your qualification certificate via post once achieved. We will follow GDPR rules and destroy information given 6months after you leave the centre.
