BSL INTERPRETATION SERVICE

If you have an appointment or would like to make an appointment and need communication support Wales Council for Deaf People can help you.
Because of Corona virus, GP surgeries, hospitals and other organisations have changed how they see people. A lot of appointments are now over the phone or on a screen with a BSL interpreter. If you have an appointment or need to see a GP, let us know and we can arrange for the doctor to see you with an interpreter on a video call. If it is an emergency, don’t worry. We will try our best to get an appointment and interpreter for you as soon as possible.

If you can send us a picture of the appointment letter, that will be helpful

TO BOOK AN INTERPRETER

If you need an interpreter, we will need to know :
  • Where is the appointment?
  • Date and time of appointment.
  • Your full name, address, date of birth and patient number.
If you can send us a picture of the appointment letter, that would be useful.

If you have a preferred interpreter, let us know. If we can, we will try and book that interpreter.

When we book the interpreter, we will text or email you to let you know who the interpreter is. So you will know the name of the interpreter and know that an interpreter has been booked.

If you have a short notice or emergency appointment or meeting, let us know. We may be able to get an interpreter at short notice, so contact us.

CHANGING OR CANCELLING AN APPOINTMENT

If you need to change or cancel an appointment, we will need to know the same information as above. We will contact them and explain you need to cancel or change the appointment.

You can contact us by text: 07572 023052 or email: mail@wcdeaf.org.uk
